Llandudno- All the Fun of the Pier
There's something particularly inviting about seaside towns out of season, the gaudy decorations are still largely in place but there are few humans around. Still, the amusement arcades are still open and the vending machines still full of toys to be won.
It would be easy to slip into cliche about the setting being somehow sad or forlorn, but that would be to ignore the fact that far from being abandoned, it is merely running on a lower gear. It still has its users, though fewer, older and generally slower, the amusements seem populated by single men with a child in a baby buggy. Despite the weather these are still places of happiness, and for the photographer it's an opportunity to savour the colour and details.
